There are some days, from a photography standpoint, where the day seems “too easy”. We can discuss and plan for a year +, and when the day comes it doesn’t always pan out accordingly. There’s a myraid of reasons why one’s wedding day could unravel. As a professional who sees it week in and week out, I do my best to help my clients, by offering insight from experience. Ultimately, it’s their day and I will always succumb to their wishes. With Brandon and Alyssa I laid out my recommended time-line and discussed the travel plans (how the AC Boardwalk could play into the rest of the day, etc. etc…). When the day started off a little behind schedule, and our time-line started to get crunched- I was a little nervous. All of these cool opportunities might be squandered. Ulitimately, it’s up to us to make sure things stay on track, so we can capture the day in a relaxed, natural manner. But, there are varialbes we can’t control: how stressed the bride/groom might be, how much time is really eaten-up by tardiness, etc… Then there are times that it only takes a few minutes to capture the essense of a couple and their day. It takes a particular personality and true, confident love to allow us to capture the day without a rush, after it seems we lost valuable time. Brandon and Alyssa were so easy to photograph! It was obvious how the felt about each other, and it was to our advantage that they didn’t mind showing it. Despite the time-line being crunched a bit, we ended up with plenty of additional time, due to their ease and willingness to allow us to document their day in our style. They had a beautiful reveal, a heart-felt and personal ceremony (their brother-in-law was the officiant), a fun bridal party and family members, perfect weather and a kick-ass party. It was one of my favorite weddings of the year, easily. Here are some of my favorites from their day:
