All week leading up to the Ashley and Mike’s wedding rain threatened. Come the day of it called for heavy storms exactly when we were to be outside for their portraits. Fortunately, the luxurious Cairnwood Estate offers great indoor options. Still, the clouds teased us. They moved their ceremony from outdoor at the estate to the Bryn Athyn Cathedral (on the same estate grounds). As soon as the ceremony ended they exited the church, got to the scenic overlook, we captured 30 seconds of candid moments before it started to finally rain. The first two images here show just as the rain started, as you can see the drops and their cute reaction walking. We took cover for a bit, as the drizzle turned to a downpour. We figured we would be stuck indoors the remainder of the evening. No biggie. The place is stunning. A few minutes after our indoor portrait session the sky cleared and sun came out. It was just in time for their dinner service and the energy the clearing brought to the party couldn’t have been any better with it’s timing. Everyone seemed to be picked up by the change of weather. Perfect setting for a perfect couple. Here are a few of my favorites as I organize Ashley & Mike’s wedding images.
